With images from around the world – including movie clips and dynamic photo transitions set to music – be prepared for an amazing journey of athletic accomplishments and sole searching presented by world class athlete Marshall Ulrich. Ulrich – four time winner of the Badwater 146-mile desert run, one of three people in the world to have participated in all nine Eco Challenges, and successful climber of all of the Seven Summits (including Everest) – will highlight is accomplishments in ultra running, adventure racing, and mountaineering: the Triple Crown of Extreme Sports. Going deeper than just the accomplishments themselves, Ulrich describes what drives him to succeed, which is often something outside of himself: the motivation of doing for others.

World class athlete Marshall Ulrich will present his insights on conditioning the mind and body to complete endurance events, including information on training, hydration, and nutrition – and providing these in extremes such as heat and altitude. He will also provide psychological insights based on a study completed by Dr. Murray Griffin (PhD Essex University) during the Badwater 146-mile races across Death Valley. His insights are based on a 20 year career completing the Triple Crown of Extreme Sports: ultra running, adventure racing, and mountaineering.

Marshall Ulrich , 54, is he only person in the world to complete the Triple Crown of Extreme Sports: world class ultra runner, record setting adventure racer, and Seven Summits mountaineer. Marshall has completed over 111 ultra marathons averaging  over 100 miles each. His specialty is competing in extreme conditions including desert and adventure racing, as well as mountaineering. Marshall has reached the summit of each of the Seven Summits including Mount Everest – all on first attempts. He has crossed Death Valley a record 18 times including a solo and 586-mile quad crossing. He is a record 4-time winner of the Badwater 146-mile race from minus 282 feet to the 14,497-foot summit of Mount Whitney, and has finished a record 13 Badwater races. Marshall is also one of three people in the world to have competed in all nine Eco Challenge adventure races. He is the only person to have completed the Leadville Trail 100 and Pikes Peak Marathon on the same weekend. In 1989, he was the first person to complete all six 100-mile trail races – finishing top-10 in five of them – in the same year. With a personal best of 142 miles, he is a two time silver medalist in the national 24-hour championship.

Marshall is a published author, including “I May be a Stray Dog, but I'm Not Lost” a chapter in the book The Thrill of Victory, The Agony of My Feet – Tales from the World of Adventure Racing by Neal Jamison, 2005.

He was named in the top 10 “2004 Outdoor Person of the Year Awards” by Hooked on the Outdoors magazine in February 2005, not only for his athletic accomplishments but for “giving back” – including raising over $220,000 for charity.

He was on the cover of the June 2004 addition of Adventure Sports Magazine , and was highlighted as one of the athletes “Over 50 and Kicking Your Butt.”

In December 2001, Outside magazine named Marshall “Endurance King” as part of their “A-Team – the 25 best athletes in their fields.”

He was on the cover of the June/July 2001 issue of Trail Runner magazine and was highlighted as one of the “Legends of the Trail – 10 runners with a living legacy.”

He has also written articles for other publications.
